ABOUT GIRLS I RATE
GIRLS I RATE is a not-for-profit organisation made up of notable women within the creative industries who share artistic and social ideologies. Founded in March 2016, GIR creates a platform and voice for women and girls to collaborate, celebrate and empower each other.

"CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY"
GIR successfully launched on March 8th 2016 when it hosted its first annual dinner gala where 100 women from varied areas of the creative industry were in attendance along side a celebrity guest list. The event which took place on International Women’s Day included celebrity support from Kanya King, Jorgie Porter and Liz McClarnon to name a few and press support including Channel 4 News, who covered the event live, The Guardian, Huffington Post and Music Week to name a few.
GIR ARTS ACADEMY
EMPOWERING THE FUTURE FEMALE CREATIVES!
In May 2016 GIR partnered with MOBO unsung and Metropolis Studios delivering the first GIR Arts Weekender. The academy is run by industry experts over a weekend giving girls 16-25 yrs a Free educational and practical weekender in the creative and arts industries.
In September 2017 GIR partnered with PRSF Foundation and Roundhouse to deliver a 2 day GIR Song Writing Academy Weekender for the next generation of female song writers. Under the supervision of Carla Marie and Tutors Simon Smith (Britney Spears) and Tanya Lacey (The Voice), 15 female finalists learned the fundamental practices of song writing.
#GETHEARD A&R WEEKENDER
Girls I Rate partnered with Island Records and PRS for Music to deliver the very first all female Girls I Rate #GETHEARD A&R Listening Weekender. The event was a great success. Providing 100 young women aged 16-30 the opportunity to showcase their original music to a panel of industry experts and A&R’s. Crossing all genres of music with a diverse mix of music experts to listen encourage and critic their work. The event was hosted by Carla, Manny Norte from Capital Xtra and Artist Lily Allen.
SUMMER SOIREE
On the 21st June 2017, GIR welcomed over 200 guests on board The Yacht London for our Exclusive Summer Soiree Fundraiser.
Hosted by GIR Founder Carla Marie Williams, Rio Fredricka (MTV Presenter), Melody Kane (DJ), Alexis Knox (Celebrity Stylist/DJ) and Sarah Richards (Choreographer/Dancer) the evening was intended to bring women together to network, mingle & have fun.
Guests on the night included celebrity advocates Emeli Sande and Naughty Boy who partied into the night along the river thames with BeringIce Vodka Cocktails, Casanova Prosecco, great food and good vibes. Music on the night was brought to us by our hosts Alexis Knox and 1xtra’s DJ Melody Kane & The Beats Nadia Jae, who had the Yacht dancing all evening.
